SUMMARY. — The characteristics of the abdominal segmentation in the Suborder Coleoptera Adephaga, give opportunity to distinguish three main «abdominal types », respectively named : «carabidian Type, nebridian Type and harpalidian Type ». A correlation is stressed between these morphological types and the main phyletic lineages of the Suborder.
