Ecological benefits of consistent expression of posterolateral spines in Brachionus calyciflorus

Plasticity of spine morphology is a universal phenomenon in rotifers. Some Brachionus calyciflorus clones consistently develop two posterolateral spines (PS) with similar length (Type A), but others (Type B) not. The underlying mechanisms remain unknown.

Endosymbiotic bacteria Wolbachia are recognized for their role in influencing host survival and stress resistance, particularly in cold environmental conditions across various species. Phototransformation of Amlodipine in Aqueous Solution: Toxicity of the Drug and Its Photoproduct on Aquatic Organisms

The phototransformation of amlodipine in water was investigated under various conditions. A quantum yield ΦS2.2×10−4 and a half-life time t1/2 0.419 days were calculated when the drug in water (10−4 M) was exposed to sunlight.
