We sequenced the mitochondrial genomes of the spider crabs Maja crispata and Maja squinado (Majidae, Brachyura). Both genomes contain the whole set of 37 genes characteristic of Bilaterian genomes, encoded on both α- and β-strands.

Molecular Phylogeny and Evolution of the Tuerkayana (Decapoda: Brachyura: Gecarcinidae) Genus Based on Whole Mitochondrial Genome Sequences. [PDF]
Simple Summary The current classification system of the Brachyura based on complete mitochondrial genomes lacks representative species for many genera and even families. This leads to a confusing and incomplete taxonomy within the Brachyura suborder. The

The Complete Mitochondrial Genome of Pilumnopeus Makianus (Brachyura: Pilumnidae), Novel Gene Rearrangements, and Phylogenetic Relationships of Brachyura. [PDF]
Pilumnopeus makianus is a crab that belongs to Pilumnidae, Brachyura. Although many recent studies have focused on the phylogeny of Brachyura, the internal relationships in this clade are far from settled.

Convergent Adaptation of True Crabs (Decapoda: Brachyura) to a Gradient of Terrestrial Environments. [PDF]
For much of terrestrial biodiversity, the evolutionary pathways of adaptation from marine ancestors are poorly understood, and have usually been viewed as a binary trait.

A novel neo-sex chromosome in Sylvietta brachyura (Macrosphenidae) adds to the extraordinary avian sex chromosome diversity among Sylvioidea songbirds. [PDF]
We report the discovery of a novel neo‐sex chromosome in an African warbler, Sylvietta brachyura (northern crombec; Macrosphenidae). This species is part of the Sylvioidea superfamily, where four separate autosome–sex chromosome translocation events have

Mangroves have a function as shelters, nurturing places, spawning grounds, and foraging places, and can be a habitat for wild animals. Brachyura is one of the mangrove biota associations whose lives are influenced by the existence of mangroves. Therefore,

Mitogenomes Provide Insights Into the Evolution of Thoracotremata (Brachyura: Eubrachyura)
Thoracotremata is a group of Brachyura, with 1,248 extant species. To date, parts of the thoracotreme phylogeny are not yet resolved and require further investigation.

Characterizing the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of an organism is useful for genomic studies in taxonomy and evolution. The mitogenomic characteristics of Eucrate crenata (Decapoda: Brachyura: Goneplacidae) have never been studied.
