Cannabinoid exposure during pregnancy: Cardiorespiratory effects and offspring outcomes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to cannabinoids has been investigated across human and animal studies to understand its impact on physiological development. Evidence suggests that early‐life cannabinoid exposure influence multiple developmental processes, extending beyond neurodevelopmental outcomes to potentially affect placental function ...

Interference of Pteridium arachnoideum (Kaulf.) Maxon. (Dennstaedtiaceae) on the establishment of rainforest trees Interferência de Pteridium arachnoideum (Kaulf.) Maxon. (Dennstaedtiaceae) no estabelecimento de árvores tropicais

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2010
In order to identify the effect of P. arachnoideum, we studied 11 native tree species commonly used in reforestation projects. Bioassays were conducted in laboratory to evaluate the effect of bracken leachate on the germination and morphology of ...

Indigenous Foodways in Transition: A Qualitative Study With Māori Elders in Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesKōtuitui: New Zealand Journal of Social Sciences Online, Volume 21, Issue 3, September 2026.
Purpose: This study explored how the Māori food landscape and foodways have changed over the last 70 years, centring the voices of Māori elders whose lived experiences provide critical insight into the nutrition transition. Methods: Guided by a Māori worldview and Kaupapa Māori research principles, we engaged in conversations (kōrero) with Māori elders

Bracken fern poisoning to cattle raised in Parana State, Brazil/
A intoxicação por samambaia em bovinos criados no Estado do Paraná

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2003
The author presents a revision about bracken fern (Pteridium aquilinum, L. Kuhn), in cattle, raised in the state of the Paraná. This toxic plant represents huge damages to the creators in the state and is being disseminated quickly, becoming the toxic ...

Phosphorus speciation by (31)P NMR spectroscopy in bracken (Pteridium aquilinum (L.) Kuhn) and bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta (L.) Chouard ex Rothm.) dominated semi-natural upland soil.

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2016
Access to P species is a driver for plant community composition based on nutrient acquisition. Here we investigated the distribution and accumulation of soil inorganic P (Pi) and organic P (Po) forms in a bracken and bluebell dominated upland soil for ...

When AI outputs become documents: Documentation activity in human–AI dialogue

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 8, Page 1067-1083, August 2026.
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) generate texts that increasingly circulate as documents in knowledge infrastructures, yet their documentary status remains theoretically underdetermined. Unlike traditional documents, LLM outputs lack identifiable authorship, stable provenance, or testimonial grounding.

Seasonal Restructuring of Microbial Communities and Resistomes in the Shitalakshya River, Bangladesh Revealed by Shotgun Metagenomics

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
Dry‐season pollutant concentration drives microbial restructuring in Bangladesh's Shitalakshya River, shifting communities from Myroides to stress‐tolerant genera while enriching metal resistance genes and efflux pumps, revealing non‐antibiotic co‐selection as a key driver of antimicrobial resistance in urban waters.

Conserved symbiosis‐associated genes in the cycad Encephalartos natalensis suggest co‐option for cyanobacterial symbiosis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 4, Page 2168-2185, August 2026.
The heterocyst‐rich Encephalartos natalensis cyanobacterial zone in coralloid root suggests co‐option of conserved symbiosis‐associated genes. This figure was created in BioRender (BioRender.com/https://BioRender.com/n3qveqc). Summary Plant‐cyanobacterial symbioses have evolved independently at least four times across land plants, yet their underlying ...

To Align or Not to Align? That Is the Question

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract Previous studies have shown that vertically misaligned circulations are commonly found in weaker tropical cyclones (TCs) below hurricane strength, whereas TCs of hurricane intensity more typically exhibit vertically aligned vortices. Thus an important step in the TC intensification process is achieving a vertically aligned circulation.

Cattle acute intoxication by bracken fern ( Pteridium aquilinum, L. Kuhn) at north Paraná State-Brazil/
Ocorrência de intoxicação aguda em bovinos pela samambaia ( Pteridium aquilinum, L. Kuhn) no norte do Paraná-Brasil

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2001
The authors describe a case of acute intoxication by bracken fern ( Pteridium aquilinum) in a cattle herd raised in the city of Reserva, Parana State. A total of 25 animals died due to intoxication caused by the ingestion of large amounts of the toxic ...
