Bracketing brackets with bras and kets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Brackets are an essential component in aircraft manufacture and design, joining parts together, supporting weight, holding wires, and strengthening joints. Hundreds or thousands of unique brackets are used in every aircraft, but manufacturing a large number of distinct brackets is inefficient and expensive.

Toda brackets in n-angulated categories [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We introduce Toda brackets for n-angulated categories and show that the various definitions of Toda brackets coincide. We prove juggling formulas for these Toda brackets generalizing the triangulated case. Following that, we generalize a theorem due to Heller in the triangulated setting to the setting of n-angulated categories.

Quadratic Poisson brackets compatible with an algebra structure [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Phys. A27 (1994) L693-L696, 1994
Quadratic Poisson brackets on a vector space equipped with a bilinear multiplication are studied. A notion of a bracket compatible with the multiplication is introduced and an effective criterion of such compatibility is given. Among compatible brackets, a subclass of coboundary brackets is described, and such brackets are enumerated in a number of ...

Functionals and the Quantum Master Equation

open access: yes, 2005
The quantum master equation is usually formulated in terms of functionals of the components of mappings from a space-time manifold M into a finite-dimensional vector space. The master equation is the sum of two terms one of which is the anti-bracket (odd

An Alternate Approach to the Lie Bracket on Hochschild Cohomology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We define Gerstenhaber's graded Lie bracket directly on complexes other than the bar complex, under some conditions. The Koszul complex of a Koszul algebra in particular satisfies our conditions.

Global Trends in Risk Factors for Low Back Pain: An Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Study Data From 1990 to 2021

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The increasing burden associated with low back pain (LBP) is a critical issue. This is a novel analysis of trends in risk factors for LBP aiming to identify risk factors that require further attention or consideration in global policies to reduce the burden of LBP.

On the quantization of Poisson brackets [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics Volume 127, Issue 1, 15 April 1997, Pages 73-93, 1995
In this paper we introduce two classes of Poisson brackets on algebras (or on sheaves of algebras). We call them locally free and nonsingular Poisson brackets. Using the Fedosov's method we prove that any locally free nonsingular Poisson bracket can be quantized.

The Poisson bracket on free null initial data for gravity

open access: yes, 2009
Free initial data for general relativity on a pair of intersecting null hypersurfaces are well known, but the lack of a Poisson bracket and concerns about caustics have stymied the development of a constraint free canonical theory. Here it is pointed out

A Simulative Approach for the Prediction of Mesoscale Residual Stress Fields in Solution‐Strengthened Ferritic Ductile Iron

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a 3D representative volume element‐based simulation approach to predict mesoscopic residual stress and strain fields in silicon solid solution‐strengthened ductile cast iron. By modeling phase transformation kinetics with an enhanced Johnson–Mehl–Avrami–Kolmogorov model, the effects of varying cooling rates on residual stresses are ...

Effect of Mechanical Surface Treatment on Shear Bond Strength of Orthodontic Brackets to 3D Printed and Milled CAD/CAM Provisional Materials: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesJournal of Functional Biomaterials
The aim of the study is to assess the impact of mechanical surface treatments on the shear bond strength (SBS) of orthodontic brackets bonded to three-dimensional (3D) printed and milled CAD/CAM provisional materials.
