Network structure and taxonomic composition of tritrophic communities of Fagaceae, cynipid gallwasps and parasitoids in Sichuan, China 中国四川的壳斗科、瘿蜂、和寄生蜂之三級营养生物群落的结构和组成

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 17, Issue 6, Page 1046-1071, November 2024.
We quantified previously unstudied tritrophic gall communities on Fagaceae in Sichuan, China, testing for ‘bottom‐up’ effects of host plant diversity on plant–herbivore and plant–parasitoid interactions. We sampled 176 cynipid gall morphotypes from 23 host plant species, yielding 64 parasitoid morphospecies.

Identifying novel sources of resistance to wheat stem sawfly in five wild wheat species

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 6, Page 2976-2990, June 2024.
The study explored wild wheat relatives for enhanced resistance to wheat stem sawfly (WSS). Novel findings highlight germplasm potential for breeding. Antixenosis and antibiosis responses to WSS were assessed across 91 accessions, revealing Aegilops tauschii, Triticum turgidum, and T. urartu as potential sources of resistance.

Density‐dependence and competition between Tranosema rostrale and Elachertus cacoeciae, two parasitoids of the spruce budworm

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 172, Issue 6, Page 533-543, June 2024.
The interactions between two common parasitoid species (Hymenoptera) of the spruce budworm, Choristoneura fumiferana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), were investigated during the low‐density period between outbreaks using data collected through field‐implanted larvae in two sites over a 35‐year period.
