Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Analysis of volatile and non‐volatile metabolites across three developmental stages (3rd, 4th and 5th instar nymphal stages) of leaf galls induced by Phacopteron lentiginosum on Garuga pinnata revealed that the 3rd stage exhibited the highest chemical diversity and concentration followed by 4th and 5th stages.
