Bragg-edge Imaging with Neutrons
Materials Testing, 2008Abstract Cold neutrons have a wavelength that is in the same range as the dhkl spaces for polycrystalline metal materials. Therefore imaging of polycrystalline materials with monochromatic cold neutrons provides a unique contrast due to coherent Bragg scattering. Here, we present investigations of metallic materials with energy-selective

Image edge enhancement by Bragg diffraction
Optics Communications, 1996We present a novel and simple optical image processing system for edge enhancement. The system consists of a single imaging lens and an acousto-optic modulator. Image edge enhancement is achieved by Bragg diffraction. Experimental and computer simulation results are given.

Coupling of Edge States and Topological Bragg Solitons
Physical Review Letters, 2019The existence of the edge states at the interface between two media with different topological properties is protected by symmetry, which makes such states robust against structural defects or disorder. We show that, if a system supports more than one topological edge state at the interface, even a weak periodic deformation may scatter one edge state ...

PiBrED—A novel bragg edge detector for neutrons
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2011We present a single pixel prototype of a pixelated Bragg edge detector for neutron transmission measurements. The optical signal coming from a scintillator is collected by an optical fiber and is detected by an avalanche photodiode. A fast, Field Programmable Gate Array based, readout allows to obtain transmission spectra within reasonable acquisition ...

Neutron Bragg-edge mapping of weld seams
International Journal of Materials Research, 2012AbstractCold neutrons have a wavelength that is in the same range as the lattice spacings of most polycrystalline metallic materials. Imaging of such materials with monochromatic cold neutrons of different wavelengths provides a unique contrast due to coherent Bragg scattering.

First neutron Bragg-edge imaging experimental results at CSNS*
Chinese Physics B, 2021The neutron Bragg-edge imaging is expected to be a new non-destructive energy-resolved neutron imaging technique for quantitatively two-dimensional or three-dimensional visualizing crystallographic information in a bulk material, which could be benefited from pulsed neutron source. Here we build a Bragg-edge imaging system on the General Purpose Powder
