Bragg diffraction of a read beam is studied theoretically when the refractive-index grating is placed inside a Fabry–Perot cavity. Diffraction efficiency, angular selectivity, and signal-to-noise ratio are largely enhanced compared with those for the bare Bragg grating, which may permit the use of low-efficiency or short-length materials as well.

Comparative analysis of silica fiber Bragg grating and chalcogenide fiber Bragg grating
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021Abstract Sensing performance of silica fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and chalcogenide FBG are compared in presence of apodization functions. The Bessel and Gaussian apodization functions are chosen in this analysis. These fibers are compared on the basis of their sensitivity, detection accuracy, quality parameter and sidelobe suppression ability ...

Fiber optics has emerged as a promising sensing technology over the past two decades. Fiber optic sensors (FOS) have generated great interest due to their small size, immunity to electro-magnetic interference and radio frequency (RF) interference, inherent safety, and accuracy.

Ultrashort bragg soliton in a fiber bragg grating
Optics Communications, 2002The propagation of a nonlinear ultrashort pulse in a photonic bandgap structure is investigated by using the finite-difference time-domain method. The simulation results show that an ultrashort pulse near the bandgap edge can propagate through a nonlinear fiber Bragg grating, even if the broadband spectrum of this ultrashort pulse overlaps the whole ...

Magnetically Tunable Fiber Bragg Gratings
Wavelength Division Multiplexing Components, 1999We believe we report the first demonstration of a broad-range (15.7 nm) tuning of fiber Bragg grating using fast, programmable, and latchable magnetic actuation. A key advantage is that the device requires no power except when shifting wavelengths.

Dynamics of Bragg Grating Solitons In Coupled Bragg Gratings With Dispersive Reflectivity
2014We study dynamics of Bragg grating solitons in a system of linearly coupled Bragg gratings with Kerr nonlinearity. The effects of dispersive reflectivity on the behaviour of solitons in the system are investigated by solving the coupled mode equations numerically. Gap solitons, are found to exist throughout the bandgap of the structure.
