Braids in trivial braid diagrams
, 2003 We show that every trivial 3-strand braid diagram contains a disk, defined as a ribbon ending in opposed crossings. Under a convenient algebraic form, the result extends to every Artin--Tits group of dihedral type, but it fails to extend to braids with 4 strands and more. The proof uses a partition of the Cayley graph and a continuity argument.

Archaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This paper reports on the excavation of a cache of stone artefacts, buried on the bank of a waterhole or ‘billabong’ in central western Queensland. This is an extremely rare find, and yet it is the second such site to be reported within less than a 10 km radius.

Braided Clifford Algebras as Braided Quantum Groups
, 1995 The paper deals with braided Clifford algebras, understood as Chevalley-Kahler deformations of braided exterior algebras. It is shown that Clifford algebras based on involutive braids can be naturally endowed with a braided quantum group structure. Basic group entities are constructed explicitly.
