Virtual braids [PDF]

open access: yesFundamenta Mathematicae, 2004
In the present paper we give a new method for converting virtual knots and links to virtual braids. Indeed the braiding method given in this paper is quite general, and applies to all the categories in which braiding can be accomplished. We give a unifying topological interpretation of virtuals and flats (virtual strings) and their isotopies via ribbon

n-Bridge braids and the braid index

open access: yesJournal of Knot Theory and Its Ramifications, 2023
In this work, we find a closed form formula for the braid index of an [Formula: see text]-bridge braid, a class of positive braid knots which simultaneously generalizes torus knots, 1-bridge braids, and twisted torus knots. Our proof is elementary, effective, and self-contained, and partially recovers work of Birman–Kofman. Along the way, we show that

Abstract 007: Device‐related Technical Complications with Flow Diversion of Intracranial Aneurysms: A Systematic Review and Meta‐analysis

open access: yesStroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology, 2023
Introduction Flow diverters (FD) have become a revolutionary approach in the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms (IAs), supplanting traditional methods (1).

Braided oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2002
A generalized oscillator algebra is proposed and the braided Hopf algebra structure for this generalized oscillator is investigated. Using the solutions for the braided Hopf algebra structure, two types of braided Fibonacci oscillators are introduced. This leads to two types of braided Biedenharn–Macfarlane oscillators as special cases of the Fibonacci

Evolution properties of the knot’s defect

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
The defect of differential (cyclotomic) expansion for colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials is conjectured to be invariant under any antiparallel evolution and change linearly with the evolution in any parallel direction. In other words, each $${{\mathcal {R}}}$$

Particle topology, braids, and braided belts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2009
Recent work [S. O. Bilson-Thompson, e-print arXiv:hep-th/0503213; Bilson-Thompson et al., Class. Quantum Grav. 24, 3975 (2007)] suggests that topological features of certain quantum gravity theories can be interpreted as particles, matching the known fermions and bosons of the first generation in the standard model.

Polyadic Braid Operators and Higher Braiding Gates [PDF]

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
A new kind of quantum gates, higher braiding gates, as matrix solutions of the polyadic braid equations (different from the generalized Yang–Baxter equations) is introduced. Such gates lead to another special multiqubit entanglement that can speed up key distribution and accelerate algorithms.

Neo-Victorianism as a Cemetery: Heterotopia and Heterochronia in Tracy Chevalier’s Falling Angels and Audrey Niffenegger’s Her Fearful Symmetry

open access: yesHumanities, 2022
This article examines the nature of neo-Victorianism as a heterotopia and heterochronia, that is, situatedness where the relationship between the past and the present is paradoxically concurrent and palimpsestic.
