Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

Behavior of aircraft antiskid braking systems on dry and wet runway surfaces. A slip-velocity-controlled, pressure-bias-modulated system [PDF]

open access: yes
The braking and cornering response of a slip velocity controlled, pressure bias modulated aircraft antiskid braking system is investigated. The investigation, conducted on dry and wet runway surfaces, utilized one main gear wheel, brake, and tire ...

Carbon-Oxygen White Dwarfs Accreting CO-Rich Matter I: A Comparison Between Rotating and Non-Rotating Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate the lifting effect of rotation on the thermal evolution of CO WDs accreting CO-rich matter. We find that rotation induces the cooling of the accreting star so that the delivered gravitational energy causes a greater expansion with respect ...

Microglial HVCN1 Deficiency Improves Movement and Survival of SOD1G93A ALS Mice by Enhancing Microglial Migration and Neuroprotection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydrogen voltage gated channel 1 (HVCN1) is upregulated in microglia of both ALS patients and its mouse model. HVCN1 deficiency enhances microglial migration via suppressing Akt signaling, promotes neurotrophic capacity and motor function, and prolongs survival of the SOD1G93A ALS mice. This study identifies HVCN1 as a novel, promising druggable target

Behavior of aircraft antiskid braking systems on dry and wet runway surfaces: Hydromechanically controlled system [PDF]

open access: yes
The investigation utilized one main gear wheel, brake, and tire assembly of a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 series 10 airplane. The landing-gear strut was replaced by a dynamometer.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Combined Photothermal and mTOR‐Targeted Therapy Overcomes Immune Evasion and Enhances Checkpoint Blockade Efficacy in Metastatic Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that photothermal therapy, while inducing immunogenic cell death in triple‐negative breast cancer, paradoxically activates the oncogenic mTOR pathway to drive immune evasion. To counter this, a smart nanocomposite is engineered to co‐deliver localized hyperthermia and mTOR inhibition.

Overview of braking intention recognition for longitudinal dynamic control of vehicles

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2019
As a prerequisite for the control of the brake by wire system, the identification of braking intention has a direct impact on the accuracy of the vehicle control system, and it affects the vehicle running safety under specific working conditions, thus ...

Loss of SOCS1 in Donor T Cells Exacerbates Intestinal GVHD by Driving a Chemokine‐Dependent Pro‐Inflammatory Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell‐specific Socs1 knockout leads to inflammatory differentiation of CD8+ T cells, prompting the STAT1/2 complex to drive the activation of Ccl5, Ccr5, and Cxcr3, and promoting the skewing of monocytes toward a pro‐inflammatory M1 macrophage lineage.
