Some Recent Results on Pie Cutting [PDF]
For cake cutting, cuts are parallel to an axis and yield rectangular pieces. As such, cutting a cake is viewed as dividing a line segment. For pie cutting, cuts are radial from the center of a disc to the circumference and yield sectors or wedge-shaped

Abstract This article explores how Afro‐Brazilian communities in Pernambuco respond to state‐led industrial development through culturally rooted practices of resistance and repair. Drawing on archival and ethnographic research in the coastal municipalities of Cabo de Santo Agostinho and Ipojuca, this study traces the effects of Brazil's large‐scale ...

Optimising Sparse Matrix Vector multiplication for large scale FEM problems on FPGA [PDF]
Sparse Matrix Vector multiplication (SpMV) is an important kernel in many scientific applications. In this work we propose an architecture and an automated customisation method to detect and optimise the architecture for block diagonal sparse matrices ...

Abstract Objectives The complex care needs of pediatric patients with short bowel syndrome‐associated intestinal failure (SBS‐IF) can negatively impact the health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients and their caregivers. We assessed the impact of teduglutide on HRQoL of pediatric patients with SBS‐IF.

Sexual reproduction in invasive Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica) in south Sweden
To understand the potential for northward expansion of knotweeds into currently uninvaded regions, it is crucial to assess the potential for sexual reproduction alongside the ongoing vegetative spread. For that reason, we tested viability in Reynoutria japonica seeds in south Sweden, a region where viable seeds had not been previously reported ...

Cutting A Pie Is Not A Piece Of Cake [PDF]
Is there a division among n players of a cake using n-1 parallel vertical cuts, or of a pie using n radial cuts, that is envy-free (each player thinks he or she receives a largest piece and so does not envy another player) and undominated (there is no ...

Numerical simulations were employed to boost industrial TOPCon cells from 25.5% to 26.07% by suppressing J0e,metal,eff without compromising ρc with a dual optimization strategy: (1) engineering the selective emitter sheet resistance (Rsh_SE) to 117 Ω/□ and (2) reducing the LECO‐induced partial metal contact ratio (fpmc) to 1%.
