This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

An exact approach for single machine scheduling with quadratic earliness and tardiness penalties [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the single machine scheduling problem with quadratic earliness and tardiness costs, and no machine idle time. We propose two different lower bounds, as well as a lower bounding procedure that combines these two bounds.

A Novel Method for the Absolute Pose Problem with Pairwise Constraints
Absolute pose estimation is a fundamental problem in computer vision, and it is a typical parameter estimation problem, meaning that efforts to solve it will always suffer from outlier-contaminated data.

Efficient Similarity Point Set Registration by Transformation Decomposition
Point set registration is one of the basic problems in computer vision. When the overlap ratio between point sets is small or the relative transformation is large, local methods cannot guarantee the accuracy.

Towards an abstract parallel branch and bound machine [PDF]
Many (parallel) branch and bound algorithms look very different from each other at first glance. They exploit, however, the same underlying computational model.

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated
