A branch‐and‐cut algorithm for the ring spur assignment problem [PDF]

open access: yesNetworks, 2013
AbstractThe ring spur assignment problem arises in the design of next‐generation telecommunications networks and has applications in location‐allocation problems. The aim is to identify a minimum cost set of interconnected ring spurs. We seek to connect all nodes of the network either on a set of bounded disjoint local rings or by a single spur edge ...

Integrated Optimization of Train Stop Planning and Scheduling on Metro Lines With Express/Local Mode

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Train stopping patterns and schedules play critical roles in the service design of metro lines with express/local mode. Previous studies on express/local mode generally handle the design of train stopping patterns and schedules independently, which ...

Branch-and-cut solution approach for multilevel mixed integer linear programming problems

open access: yesEURO Journal on Computational Optimization, 2023
A multilevel programming problem is an optimization problem that involves multiple decision makers, whose decisions are made in a sequential (or hierarchical) order. If all objective functions and constraints are linear and some decision variables in any

The rank pricing problem: Models and branch-and-cut algorithms

open access: yesComputers & Operations Research, 2019
One of the main concerns in management and economic planning is to sell the right product to the right customer for the right price. Companies in retail and manufacturing employ pricing strategies to maximize their revenues. The Rank Pricing Problem considers a unit-demand model with unlimited supply and uniform budgets in which customers have a rank ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

The impact of filtering in a branch-and-cut algorithm for multicommodity capacitated fixed charge network design

open access: yesEURO Journal on Computational Optimization, 2018
In this paper, we present a state-of-the-art branch-and-cut (B&C) algorithm for the multicommodity capacitated fixed charge network design problem (MCND).

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
