Feasible Path-Based Branch and Bound Algorithm for Highly Nonconvex Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming Problems

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2022
In this paper, a feasible path-based branch and bound (B&B) algorithm is presented for solving mixed-integer nonlinear programming problems with highly nonconvex nature. The main advantage of this novel algorithm, comparing to the conventional branch and

BACH, a Bayesian Optimization Protocol for Accurate Coarse‐Grained Parameterization of Organic Liquids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

A Genetic Algorithm to Minimize the Total Tardiness for M-Machine Permutation Flowshop Problems

open access: yesJournal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation, 2012
The m-machine, n-job, permutation flowshop problem with the total tardiness objective is a common scheduling problem, known to be NP-hard. Branch and bound, the usual approach to finding an optimal solution, experiences difficulty when n exceeds 20. Here,

Analysis of different norms and corresponding Lipschitz constants for global optimization

open access: yesTechnological and Economic Development of Economy, 2006
The paper discusses how the used norm and corresponding Lipschitz constant influence the speed of algorithms for global optimization. For this reason Lipschitz constants corresponding to different norms were estimated. Different test functions for global
