Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

The Two-Dimensional, Rectangular, Guillotineable-Layout Cutting Problem with a Single Defect [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, a two-dimensional cutting problem is considered in which a single plate (large object) has to be cut down into a set of small items of maximal value.

Effect of plastic covering, manure and harvesting season on the propagation of branch cuttings from Dendrocalamus giganteus Munro

open access: yesAdvances in Bamboo Science
We examined the effects of plastic cover, manure application, branch cutting position and season of cutting on the propagation of Dendrocalamus giganteus using branch cuttings under nursery conditions.

Influence of coffee pruning on the severity of frost damage

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2000
Frost damages in a field experiment of pruning types and systems for the cultivars of Coffea arabica Catuaí and Mundo Novo, were evaluated at Londrina (23º22’S, 52º10´W), State of Parana, southern Brazil, during the winter of 1990 and 1994. Pruning types

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Zero-one IP problems: Polyhedral descriptions & cutting plane procedures

open access: yes, 1994
A systematic way for tightening an IP formulation is by employing classes of linear inequalities that define facets of the convex hull of the feasible integer points of the respective problems.

EVALUATION OF THE CUTTING FORCE ON VINE BRANCHES IN WINTER PRUNING

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering, 2009
Mechanical pruning, usually integrated with manual finishing, still excites some doubts regarding the quality of the cut which appears not to be the best as precision and cleanliness.

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Experimental Determination of Delimbing Forces and Deformations in Hardwood Harvesting

open access: yesCroatian Journal of Forest Engineering, 2015
Delimbing is the process used to cut the branches off the trunk during tree processing by forest harvester. This process can be described as chipless cutting of green wood at a feed speed of 3 to 7 ms-1.This work aims to identify the parameters ...
