Shoot production in Douglas-fir branches

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 1989
Of the 3981 shoots present in 1986 on 16 Douglas-fir (Pseudotsugamenziesii (Mirb.) Franco) branches, 6–12 years old, only 1933 produced new shoots in 1987, and of these only 311 produced more than one shoot. Length of new terminal shoots was determined primarily by the length of the parent shoot (R2 = 0.57). Shoots that did not elongate had blunt buds,

Bank Branch Productivity Applications: Strategic Branch Management Issues Addressed with DEA

2017
Most agree that DEA is a strong method for evaluating people-governed, mostly services industries. Perhaps the most useful DEA studies include specific branch management issues where senior management believes that one or more problems exist, but they cannot measure or even identify the problem or its source.

Engineering in Vivo Production of α-Branched Polyesters

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Polymers are an important class of materials that are used for a broad range of applications, from drug delivery to packaging. Given their widespread use, a major challenge in this area is the development of technology for their production from renewable sources and efforts to promote their efficient recycling and biodegradation.

Zeolite-Based Separation and Production of Branched Hydrocarbons

2019
Separation and selective production of branched paraffins are among the most important and still challenging processes in the oil and gas industry. Addition of branched hydrocarbons can increase the octane number of a fuel without causing additional environmental concerns.

Production of branched-chain hydrocarbons via Isosynthesis

Catalysis Today, 1992
Abstract The possibility of producing branched-chain hydrocarbons, particularly i-butene, via the isosynthesis reaction is considered. The recent literature on this reaction is reviewed and the results compared with those initially obtained in Germany during the war years.

Branched TiO₂ nanorods for photoelectrochemical hydrogen production.

Nano letters, 2012
We report a hierarchically branched TiO(2) nanorod structure that serves as a model architecture for efficient photoelectrochemical devices as it simultaneously offers a large contact area with the electrolyte, excellent light-trapping characteristics, and a highly conductive pathway for charge carrier collection.

Geometry Optimization of Branched Sheet Metal Products

PAMM, 2006
AbstractGeometry Optimization plays an important role concerning to design tasks in mechanical engineering. For those we are studying sheet metal products like cable conduits. We formulate a nonlinear, continuous optimization problem to find an optimal geometry for such a sheet metal product.

Product Branched Peano Kernels and Numerical Integration

2002
Product branches of Peano kernels are used to obtain results suitable for numer-ical integration. In particular, identities and inequalities are obtained involving evaluations at an interior and at the end points. It is shown how previous work and rules in numerical integration are recaptured as particular instances of the current development. Explicit
