Dendrimers: Branching Out of Polymer Chemistry

open access: closedJournal of Chemical Education, 2002
Intended for undergraduate students of organic chemistry, this article addresses synthetic concepts surrounding dendrimers, including the use of protecting groups, functional group interconversions, and convergent and divergent synthetic strategies. The review concludes with some of the elementary synthetic transformations used to construct dendrimers.

Convergence of DNA nanotechnology and polymer chemistry to ‘synthesize’ nanopolymers with branching architectures: a computational perspective

open access: closedSoft Matter
We propose a polymerization-like protocol to program coassembly of DNA-functionalized mixtures into non-linear superstructures with well-defined branching architecture and predictable spatial dimensions.
