Law of large numbers for supercritical superprocesses with non-local branching [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper we establish a weak and a strong law of large numbers for supercritical superprocesses with general non-local branching mechanisms. Our results complement earlier results obtained for superprocesses with only local branching. Several interesting examples are developed, including multitype continuous-state branching processes, multitype ...

Novel Biologically Active Glass Fiber Functionalized Using Magnesium Phosphate Cement Promotes Bone and Vascular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In this study, a new type of bioactive glass fiber ‐based composite magnesium phosphate bone cement is prepared and verified that its mechanical strength and biological properties. In addition, the cement may have played a biologically active role in the Notch and HIF signaling pathways.

Some limit theorems for flows of branching processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We construct two kinds of stochastic flows of discrete Galton-Watson branching processes. Some scaling limit theorems for the flows are proved, which lead to local and nonlocal branching superprocesses over the positive half line.

Dislocation Distribution, Crystallographic Texture Evolution, and Plastic Inhomogeneity of Inconel 718 Fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 9, May 2025.
Spatial distribution of microstructure in Inconel 718 3D‐printed with bidirectional strategy with no rotation and chessboard strategy is studied. The former results in a highly ordered arrangement of coarse grains separated by line clusters of dislocation‐dense fine grains. This arrangement is disrupted by the chessboard strategy.

Digital Methods for the Fatigue Assessment of Engineering Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 8, April 2025.
The use of engineering steels is often limited by their fatigue strength. In the sake of a faster product development, the fatigue behavior can be predicted by machine learning (ML). In this work, ML is applied on a heterogeneous database, covering a wide range of steel types.

Approximation of the Height process of a CSBP with interaction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this work, we first show that the properly rescaled height process of the genealogical tree of a continuous time branching process converges to the height process of the genealogy of a (possibly discontinuous) continuous state branching process. We then prove the same type of result for generalized branching processes with interaction.

Electrospinning Technology, Machine Learning, and Control Approaches: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 7, April 2025.
Electrospinning produces micro‐ and nanoscale fibers, holding great promise in biomedical engineering. Industrial adoption faces challenges in controlling fiber properties, reproducibility, and scalability. This review explores electrospinning techniques, modeling, and machine learning for process optimization.
