Complementary Branching Ratios by Satellite Excitation

Physical Review Letters, 1986
It is shown that if a state autoionizes to produce a fraction, B, of products in an excited ionic state, then one can obtain the complementary fraction, 1‐B, by exciting the character of a different autoionizing state, but at the location of the first state’s resonance.

Branching ratio spectroscopy

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1993
We present a new method for obtaining spectroscopic information about short‐lived autoionizing states: branching ratio spectroscopy (BRS). Under the conditions that the transition moment is dominated by one doubly‐excited state, we show that the BRS signal is independent of the position and width of the excited resonance, but has structure located at ...

Branching ratios of annihilation reactions

Nuclear Physics A, 2001
Abstract The annihilation fractions of the p p annihilation at rest into ππ , πη , ηη , φπ 0 , K K and η (1440) ππ at different target densities are reviewed in order to determine their branching ratios from S and P antiprotonic atom sublevels and the sublevel population fractions.

Branching Ratios in Photoelectron Spectroscopy*

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1972
Discussion of the problem of measuring branching ratios or transition probabilities using the technique of photoelectron spectroscopy in terms of the angular distribution of the ejected photoelectrons. Equations are developed that can be used in conjunction with any type of electron-energy analyzer to correct for any discrimination in the analyzer ...

Branching ratios in baryon decay

Physical Review D, 1980
We estimate branching ratios for proton (and neutron) decay expected in the SU/sub 5/ grand unified theory of decay with a simple SU/sub 6/-invariant quark model for baryon structure and assuming several possible models for quark kinematics in the decay. Our branching ratios agree in the appropriate limit with two recent estimates.

Alpha branching ratio of 227Ac

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1974
Abstract A standard solution containing 504 ± 4 μg of actinium has been prepared by dissolving a weighed amount of purified Ac2O3. The 227Ac concentration has been confirmed by microgravimetry and microphotometric EDTA titration with Arsenazo III as indicator.
