Recognition of Potential COVID-19 Drug Treatments through the Study of Existing Protein–Drug and Protein–Protein Structures: An Analysis of Kinetically Active Residues

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2020
We report the results of our in silico study of approved drugs as potential treatments for COVID-19. The study is based on the analysis of normal modes of proteins.

T-branes and defects [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
AbstractWe study T-branes on compact Kähler surfaces, in the presence of fields localised at curves. If such fields are treated as defects, their vevs induce delta-function sources for the 7-brane background, possibly leading to profiles with poles. We find that the presence of defect sources relaxes the constraints on globally well-defined T-brane ...

Branes in Extended Spacetime: Brane Worldvolume Theory Based on Duality Symmetry. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
We propose a novel approach to the brane worldvolume theory based on the geometry of extended field theories: double field theory and exceptional field theory.

La via romana e la possibilità di un‘ identità culturale aperta

open access: yesArs & Humanitas, 2022
Certamente non è facile distinguere l’eredità culturale latina dall’imperialismo romano, poiché in questo caso si tratta di una sorta di espansionismo culturale – nondimeno il filosofo francese Rémi Brague ha cercato, senza trascurare la realtà storica,

Fractional branes and wrapped branes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 1998
We discuss the ``fractional D-branes'' which arise in orbifold resolution. We argue that they arise as subsectors of the Coulomb branch of the quiver gauge theory used to describe both string theory D-brane and Matrix theory on an orbifold, and thus must form part of the full physical Hilbert space.

Heterodimer Binding Scaffolds Recognition via the Analysis of Kinetically Hot Residues

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2018
Physical interactions between proteins are often difficult to decipher. The aim of this paper is to present an algorithm that is designed to recognize binding patches and supporting structural scaffolds of interacting heterodimer proteins using the ...

Brane induced supersymmetry breaking and de Sitter supergravity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2015
We obtain a four-dimensional supergravity with spontaneously broken super-symmetry allowing for de Sitter vacua by coupling a superspace action of minimal N = 1, D = 4 supergravity to a locally supersymmetric generalization of the Volkov-Akulov goldstino
