The dynamical second-order transport coefficients of smeared Dp-brane

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The smeared Dp-brane is constructed by having the black Dp-brane uniformly smeared over several transverse directions. After integrating the spherical directions and the smeared directions, the smeared Dp-brane turns out to be a Chamblin-Reall model with

Bouncing branes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2002
Two classical scalar fields are minimally coupled to gravity in the Kachru-Shulz-Silverstein scenario with a rolling fifth radius. A Tolman wormhole solution is found for a R x S^3 brane with Lorentz metric and for a R x AdS_3 brane with positive definite metric.

Monstrous Branes [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2003
We study D-branes in the bosonic closed string theory whose automorphism group is the Bimonster group (the wreath product of the Monster simple group with Z_2). We give a complete classification of D-branes preserving the chiral subalgebra of Monster invariants and show that they transform in a representation of the Bimonster.

Brane-world Kaluza–Klein reductions and branes on the brane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2001
We present a systematic study of a new type of consistent “brane-world Kaluza–Klein reduction,” which describes fully nonlinear deformations of codimension one objects that arise as solutions of a large class of gauged supergravity theories in diverse dimensions, and whose world-volume theories are described by ungauged supergravities with-one half of ...

BRANE TILINGS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2007
We review and extend the progress made over the past few years in understanding the structure of toric quiver gauge theories; those which are induced on the worldvolume of a stack of D3-branes placed at the tip of a toric Calabi–Yau cone, at an "orbifold point" in Kähler moduli space.

M5-brane and D-brane scattering amplitudes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We present tree-level n-particle on-shell scattering amplitudes of various brane theories with 16 conserved supercharges. These include the world-volume theory of a probe D3-brane or D5-brane in 10D Minkowski spacetime as well as a probe M5-brane in 11D ...

Regular string-like braneworlds

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
In this work, we propose a new class of smooth thick string-like braneworld in six dimensions. The brane exhibits a varying brane-tension and an AdS asymptotic behavior. The brane-core geometry is parametrized by the Bulk cosmological constant, the brane

MIRROR BRANES

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 2005
The Randall–Sundrum two-brane model admits the flat-brane Lorentz-invariant vacuum solution only if the branes have exactly opposite tensions. We pay attention to this condition and propose a generalization of this model in which two branes are described by actions of the same form and with the same matter content but with opposite signs. In this way,

Internal Limiting Membrane Flap Versus Conventional Peeling for Idiopathic Full Thickness Macular Holes: A Registry Analysis of 2990 Eyes

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background To compare the anatomical and functional outcomes of internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap and conventional ILM peeling in idiopathic full‐thickness macular holes (FTMHs). Methods Retrospective cohort study of all eyes treated with vitrectomy and ILM peeling (ILM‐P) with or without ILM flap (ILM‐F) for primary idiopathic FTMH repair

D-branes and non-Abelian T-duality

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We study the effect of non-Abelian T-duality (NATD) on D-brane solutions of type II supergravity. Knowledge of the full brane solution allows us to track the brane charges and the corresponding brane configurations, thus providing justification for brane
