Review of asteroid, meteor, and meteorite‐type links

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 4, Page 928-973, April 2025.
Abstract With the goal to determine the origin of our meteorites in the asteroid belt, video and photographic observations of meteors have now tracked 75 meteorite falls. Six years ago, there were just hints that different meteorite types arrived on different orbits, but now, the number of orbits (N) is high enough for distinct patterns to emerge.

Clay Minerals and Continental‐Scale Remagnetization: A Case Study of South American Neoproterozoic Carbonates

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 129, Issue 10, October 2024.
Abstract The Neoproterozoic carbonate rocks of the Araras Group (Amazon Craton) and the Sete‐Lagoas and Salitre Formations (São Francisco Craton) share a statistically indistinguishable single‐polarity (reversed) characteristic direction. This direction is associated with paleomagnetic poles that do not align with the expected directions for primary ...

Evolution of Siderian juvenile crust to Rhyacian high Ba-Sr magmatism in the Mineiro Belt, southern São Francisco Craton [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Plutonic rocks from the Mineiro Belt, Brazil record a delayed onset of the transition from TTG to sanukitoid-type magmatism (high Ba-Sr), starting during the Siderian magmatic lull when little juvenile magma was added to the continental crust.

Geochemical baseline and multivariate analysis of potentially toxic elements in stream sediments of the Vazante zinc district, Minas Gerais, Brazil

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
Intense land use, driven by mining and agriculture, promotes the dispersal of elements, including potentially toxic ones (PTEs). This dispersal significantly enhances element concentrations in soils, sediments, and water bodies, thereby altering the ...
