A partir da análise discriminatória multivariada, associada à morfologia e à distribuição sedimentar da parte oriental da Baía de Paranaguá, foi possível estabelecer a dinâmica sedimentar atuante na mesma. Essa dinâmica comporta-se diferentemente na parte a Oeste e a Sudeste da Ilha das Cobras.
