Flux‐Regulated Crystallization of Perovskites Using Machine Learning‐Predicted Solvent Evaporation Rates for X‐Ray Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By integrating machine learning into flux‐regulated crystallization (FRC), accurate prediction of solvent evaporation rates in real time, improving crystallization control and reducing crystal growth variability by over threefold, is achieved. This enhances the reproducibility and quality of perovskite single crystals, leading to reproducible ...

Tunneling effects on impurity spectral function in coupled asymmetric quantum wires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The impurity spectral function is studied in coupled double quantum wires at finite temperatures. Simple anisotropy in the confinement direction of the wires leads to finite non-diagonal elements of the impurity spectral function matrix. These non-diagonal elements are responsible for tunneling effects and result in pronounced extra peak in the ...

Paragonimiasis in Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2008
The paragonimiasis has a wide distribution in the world, but occurs in areas where there is the consumption of hosts contaminated by metacercaria of Paragonimus, as raw or slightly cooked lobsters and crabs. Human cases occur mainly in Southeast Asia and Japan; Taiwan, Thailand, India, China and Korea are the countries with endemic levels although many

The Influence of Annealing on the Sb Layer in the Synthesis of [001]‐Oriented Sb2Se3 Film for Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Gas Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
[001]‐oriented Sb2Se3 film with improved crystallinity and adjusted composition is achieved via a new thermal treatment approach consisting of preliminary annealing of the Sb layer before its selenization. The findings of this work demonstrate enhanced charge carriers' transportation, a stable performance, and an improvement of H2 generation from ...

Intersubband plasmons in quasi-one-dimensional electron systems on a liquid helium surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The collective excitation spectra are studied for a multisubband quasi-one-dimensional electron gas on the surface of liquid helium. Different intersubband plasmon modes are identified by calculating the spectral weight function of the electron gas within a 12 subband model. Strong intersubband coupling and depolarization shifts are found.

Coral snake venoms: mode of action and pathophysiology of experimental envenomation

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1987
Coral snakes, the New World Elapidae, are included in the genera Micniroides and Micrurus. The genus Mlcrurus comprises nearly all coral snake species and those which are responsible for human snake-bite accidents.

Aging in Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesThe Gerontologist, 2018
The population in Brazil is aging at a fast pace and in a context of historical socioeconomic and regional disparities. In the last decades, the country has developed important policies and legal mechanisms to guarantee older adults' right to age well and with dignity.

Glaphene: A Hybridization of 2D Silica Glass and Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
‘Glaphene’, a novel hybrid material combining 2D silica glass and graphene, is synthesized via a scalable liquid precursor‐based vapor‐phase growth. This study reveals interlayer hybridization beyond van der Waals interactions, leading to emergent semiconducting behavior.

Birth events, masses and the maximum mass of Compact Stars [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We give in this Chapter an overview of the problem of neutron star mass distribution, the issue of the maximum mass as inferred from the existing sample and the new gravitational wave events, and the connection with the formation events. It is shown that at least two different mass-scales (and possibly three) are favored by Bayesian and frequentist ...
