The development of the Brazilian economy after the Second World War was extremely rapid. The average annual growth rate from 1947 to 1951 was 5.40/0. From 1952 to 1956 it was 5.10/0, then in the 19571961 period the growth rate reached 6.90/0 annually. But on the other hand the acceleration of inflation was also rapid.
