Activo Liquid and Halquinol inhibit Salmonella and Escherichia coli in culture media. Activo Liquid exhibits bactericidal action, whereas HA is bacteriostatic, and their combination results in positive or indifferent interactions. This combination effectively inhibits E. coli throughout digestion simulation, thus reducing the required concentrations of

The effects of restricted nursing (RN) and the administration of a bovine appeasing substance (BAS) on days −8 and 0 in relation to weaning were evaluated. Both strategies were effective in improving the growth performance of beef calves. Regarding welfare, BAS ‐especially on day 0‐ was more effective than RN.

Palatability enhancers modulate taste and smell, increasing feed acceptance, reducing weaning stress, and improving piglet performance. ABSTRACT The continuous growth of global agribusiness stimulates the search for alternatives that can enhance the performance and quality of life of production animals.

Diagnostic Implications and Correlates of Plasma Adenosine Deaminase 2 Activity and ADA2 Variants
Objective Deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2 (DADA2) is a monogenic autoinflammatory disease manifested as polyarteritis nodosa, stroke, and bone marrow failure. Leveraging an international cohort of 200 DADA2 cases, we aimed to characterize the diagnostic utility of a plasma ADA2 enzyme activity assay and understand the implications of residual ADA2 ...

Objective Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is associated with impaired overall health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). We evaluated the impact of tofacitinib on patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in patients with JIA. Methods This was a post hoc analysis of a phase 3, randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled withdrawal trial (NCT02592434) in ...

Poroelastic solution to the Brazilian test
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, 2020Abstract The fully-coupled, poroelastic solution for the time-dependent stress and pore fluid pressure of a hollow or solid, cylindrical specimen of porous, fluid-saturated rock undergoing the diametral compression test is derived and presented. The long-time asymptote of the poroelastic solution for the case of solid specimen recovers the related ...

Rock Failure Envelope and Behavior Using the Confined Brazilian Test
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2021Complete rock strength envelopes spanning both the tensile and compressive stress domains are essential to engineering design in Rock. However, the exact shape of the envelope in the tensile zone is not known.

Brazilian Tensile Test for Soils
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1974Analysis and design of impermeable cores of earth dams against cracking require knowledge of the tensile strengths and tensile stress–strain relationships of the concerned soils. The same is needed for any stress and deformation analysis of an earth structure when a portion of it is expected to be in tension.
