Composition of Brazilian and Chinese Propolis for Patch Testing

open access: yesContact Dermatitis
ABSTRACTBackgroundIn Amsterdam, in 2024, patch testing with Brazilian propolis yielded high rates of positive reactions (> 20%), whereas reactivity to Chinese propolis was significantly lower (3.5%). Differences in the composition were suggested as a possible explanation.Objectives1.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Turning Water Into a Tool: From Degradation Pathways to Functional Engineering in Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Water exhibits a threshold‐dependent dual role in lead halide perovskites, acting either as a degradation trigger or as a powerful tool for defect passivation, recrystallization, and structural engineering. This review discusses how controlled water‐mediated interactions govern stability, dimensionality, and optoelectronic performance, providing ...

Did MERCOSUR affect interstate Brazilian trade ?. [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider the effect of MERCOSUR on trade between Brazilian states and on trade of Brazilian states with the rest of the world. We use a gravity model to shed light on the possible diversion effect of MERCOSUR.

Task‐Oriented Path Planning Towards Autonomous Sensor Network Deployment in Rainforest Canopies

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An informative path planner for drone‐based deployment of wireless sensor networks in rainforest canopies is presented, addressing key challenges in large‐scale biodiversity monitoring. By integrating canopy surface detection with connectivity‐aware sampling under strict flight constraints, the approach enables efficient and reliable aerial sensor ...

Revisit of Dynamic Brazilian Tests of Geomaterials

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding the dynamic behavior of geomaterials is critical for refining modeling and simulation of applications that involve impacts or explosions. Obtaining material properties of geomaterials is challenging, particularly in tension, due to the brittle and low-strength nature of such materials.

Digital Cognitive Tests with Brazilian elderly

open access: yesAnais Estendidos do XXIV Simpósio Brasileiro de Sistemas Multimídia e Web, 2018
Serious games are presented as a very promising mechanism in many settings, such as education and health, however its application with the elderly is little verified. In order to reproduce in digital form the results of the elderly cognitive assessments, made and validated on paper, in this study a digital cognitive test tool, with the characteristics ...

A Perspective on the Applications of Triphasic Gas Storage in Electrochemical Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gas storage in microporous materials positioned locally at an electrode or electrocatalyst surface enhances electrochemical processes. Abstract Microporous materials store gases under dry conditions (e.g., hydrogen or oxygen via physisorption), but in some cases microporous materials also show triphasic (e.g., in a solid|gas|liquid system) gas storage ...
