Allometric Changes Across Horseshoe Crab Moults Evidence Developmentally Controlled Ecological Shifts and Possible Exoskeletal Modularity

open access: yesEvolution &Development, Volume 27, Issue 3, September 2025.
This study explores allometric patterns in Limulus polyphemus, highlighting non‐isometric growth in prosoma across moults. These reflect adaptations related to changes in borrowing, offering insights into the evolutionary success of horseshoe crabs and contributing to broader understanding of xiphosuran development.

Enhanced Free Fatty Acid Production From Goat and Cow Milk: Conventional and Ultrasound‐Assisted Lipolysis of Whole and Disrupted Fat Globules

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 127, Issue 5, May 2025.
The graphical abstract illustrates the combined use of physical pretreatments—high‐shear dispersing (HSD), stirring (ST), and high‐pressure homogenization (HPH)—to reduce fat globule size in goat and cow milk creams, enhancing enzymatic hydrolysis.

The Effect of Florfenicol Given by Nebulization in the Treatment of Naturally Infected Calves With Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex: Randomized Clinical Study

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2025.
M. bovis and BRSV were the main pathogens in BRD calves. No PI isolated in any animals. Haematology, haptoglobin levels and thoracic ultrasonography scores were not significant. Reduction in clinical respiratory score was better in nebulized therapy groups after the second day.

Genome‐wide association study of adult plant resistance to spot blotch in an elite Canadian two‐row barley germplasm collection

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 73, Issue 6, Page 1446-1457, August 2024.
Using elite Canadian two‐row barley germplasm, GWAS identified several single‐nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) molecular markers of multiple chromosomes that were associated with adult‐plant resistance to Bipolaris sorokiniana. Abstract Spot blotch, caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana, is a growing concern for barley (Hordeum vulgare) production in most humid,

A szarvasmarhák légzőszervi tünetegyüttesének (BRDC) és hajlamosító tényezőinek előfordulása nagy létszámú magyarországi állományokban

open access: yes, 2015
Summar y The authors surveyed 15 large-scale Hungarian cattle herds (13 dairies and 2 beef herds) in 2013 in terms of environment, management and housing of calves, and the prevalence and prevention of Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex (BRDC). In all the surveyed dairy herds the following risk factors were identified; overpopulation, dehorning ...
