Synergizing BRDF correction and deep learning for enhanced crop classification in GF-1 WFV imagery
Accurate crop classification is essential for agricultural management, resource allocation, and food security monitoring. GF-1 Wide Field View (WFV) imagery suffers from Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) effects due to large viewing ...

Surface scattering characteristics and the measurement of particulate contamination [PDF]
Surface scattering measurement techniques can be adopted for use in spacecraft contamination control programs. A witness mirror measurement program was developed and implemented for the NASA Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) spacecraft.

BRDF measurements of sunshield and baffle materials for the IRAS telescope [PDF]
Measurements of the far-infrared bidirectional reflectance distribution functions (BRDF) of four samples of Martin Black coating and one sample of gold coated aluminum from the telescope to be flown on the Infrared Astronomy Satellite (IRAS) are ...

Spectroscopic Behavior of Composite, Black Thermal Paint, Solar Cell, and Multi-Layered Insulation Materials in a GEO Simulated Environment [PDF]
The population of objects orbiting Earth is dominated by orbital debris. The following study presents reflectance spectroscopic measurements and bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) evaluations taken on common spacecraft materials ...

Hypernetworks for Generalizable BRDF Representation
In this paper, we introduce a technique to estimate measured BRDFs from a sparse set of samples. Our approach offers accurate BRDF reconstructions that are generalizable to new materials. This opens the door to BDRF reconstructions from a variety of data sources.
