The Off Shell $\rho$-$\omega$ Mixing in the QCD Sum Rules

open access: yes, 1993
The $q^2$ dependence of the $\rho-\omega$ mixing amplitude is analyzed with the use of the QCD sum rules and the dispersion relation. Going off shell the mixing decreases, changes sign at $q^2 \simeq 0.4 m_{\rho}^2 > 0$ and is negative in the space like ...

Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

A quark model analysis of the charge symmetry breaking in nuclear force

open access: yes, 2003
In order to investigate the charge symmetry breaking (CSB) in the short range part of the nuclear force, we calculate the difference of the masses of the neutron and the proton, $\Delta {\rm M}$, the difference of the scattering lengths of the p-p and n ...

An Inkjet‐Printed Platinum‐Based Temperature Sensing Element on Polyimide Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An inkjet‐printed, meander‐structured, nanoparticle platinum‐based resistive temperature sensors on polyimide substrates are demonstrated as proof‐of‐concept. Optimized sintering at 250°C enables stable conductive structures. The Pt100‐ and Pt1000‐type sensors exhibit linear resistance–temperature characteristics with stable TCR in the 20°C–80°C range,

Rock Breaking by Conical Pick Assisted with High Pressure Water Jet

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2014
In the process of hard rock breaking, the conical pick bears great cutting force and wear, and the cutting efficiency is lower. Thus different combination ways of water jet and conical pick were proposed to solve this issue; for instance, water jet ...

Breaking wave forces on piles

open access: yes, 1991
Frequent use of pile-supported coastal and offshore structures makes the study cf wave loading on piles of significant practical importance. The interaction between non-breaking waves and vertical cylinders which pierce the surface has received much attention.

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
