Correcting Shape and Size Using Temporary Filler after Breast Augmentation with Silicone Implants [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2015
Breast contour deformities, lack of volume and asymmetry are common confronted problems after breast augmentation with implants. These problems can be corrected by using temporary fillers or autologous fat grafts.

Bone‐wise rigid registration of femur, tibia, and fibula for the tracking of temporal changes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Multiple myeloma (MM) induces temporal alterations in bone structure, such as osteolytic bone lesions, which are challenging to identify through manual image interpretation. The large variation in radiologists' assessments, even at expert centers, further complicates diagnosis.

The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

Role of Anatomical Implant in Augmentation of Glandular Ptotic Breast. [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2013
Breast augmentation of ptotic micromastia is relatively difficult procedure than simple augmentation. Surgeon must make into account many variables, ptosis degree, chest wall size, shape, asymmetry, nipple and inframammary fold level, soft tissue ...

Breast Mass Classification from Mammograms using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Mammography is the most widely used method to screen breast cancer. Because of its mostly manual nature, variability in mass appearance, and low signal-to-noise ratio, a significant number of breast masses are missed or misdiagnosed. In this work, we present how Convolutional Neural Networks can be used to directly classify pre-segmented breast masses ...

Biomimetic Co‐delivery of Lenvatinib and FePt Nanoparticles for Enhanced Ferroptosis/Apoptosis Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel HCC treatment using poly lactic‐co‐glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles encased in HCC cell membranes to co‐deliver Lenvatinib and FePt nanoparticles. This approach improves treatment efficacy by enhancing ferroptosis and apoptosis.

Adversarial Augmentation for Enhancing Classification of Mammography Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Supervised deep learning relies on the assumption that enough training data is available, which presents a problem for its application to several fields, like medical imaging. On the example of a binary image classification task (breast cancer recognition), we show that pretraining a generative model for meaningful image augmentation helps enhance the ...

Living Microalgae‐Based Magnetic Microrobots for Calcium Overload and Photodynamic Synergetic Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A magnetic microrobot fabricated by Spirulina platensis is proposed to accumulate in tumor regions and generate in situ high calcium concentration and sufficient oxygen. These characteristics of the microrobot present a strategy for triggering calcium overload therapy and chlorophyll‐mediated photodynamic therapy, and such combination resulted in a ...

Using convolutional neural networks for the classification of breast cancer images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
An important part of breast cancer staging is the assessment of the sentinel axillary node for early signs of tumor spreading. However, this assessment by pathologists is not always easy and retrospective surveys often requalify the status of a high proportion of sentinel nodes.

An In Situ Curing, Shear‐Responsive Biomaterial Designed for Durable Embolization of Microvasculature

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
NeoCast is a next‐generation, solvent‐free, non‐adhesive liquid embolic designed for indications where deep occlusion is desired (e.g., tumors and chronic subdural hematoma). This novel agent offers ideal embolic properties: injectability, controllability, excellent visibility, and biocompatibility.
