Morphologies in‐between: The impact of the first steps on the human talus

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 306, Issue 1, Page 124-142, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Objective The development of bipedalism is a very complex activity that contributes to shaping the anatomy of the foot. The talus, which starts ossifying in utero, may account for the developing stages from the late gestational phase onwards.

Simulation of breast compression using a new biomechanical model [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE MEDICAL IMAGING 2018, 2018, Houston, United States. International Society for Optics and Photonics, 10573, pp. 105735A-1 - 105735A-9, 2018, Medical Imaging 2018: Physics of Medical Imaging, 2018
Mammography is currently the primary imaging modality for breast cancer screening and plays an important role in cancer diagnostics. A standard mammographic image acquisition always includes the compression of the breast prior x-ray exposure. The breast is compressed between two plates (the image receptor and the compression paddle) until a nearly ...

Icaritin Represses Autophagy to Promote Colorectal Cancer Cell Apoptosis and Sensitized Low‐Temperature Photothermal Therapy via Targeting HSP90‐TXNDC9 Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icaritin demonstrates broad antitumor effects by inhibiting colorectal cancer (CRC) cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and causing cell cycle arrest. It induces apoptosis by repressing autophagic flux through disrupting HSP90‐TXNDC9 interactions.

Using data mining techniques for diagnosis and prognosis of cancer disease [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Breast cancer is one of the leading cancers for women in developed countries including India. It is the second most common cause of cancer death in women. The high incidence of breast cancer in women has increased significantly in the last years. In this paper we have discussed various data mining approaches that have been utilized for breast cancer ...

DAPK3 is Essential for DBP‐Induced Autophagy of Mouse Leydig Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study has confirmed that death‐associated protein kinase 3 (DAPK3) is essential for dibutyl phthalate (DBP)‐induced autophagy of mouse Leydig cells, and is regulated by both transcription factor specific protein 2 (Sp2) and parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin‐protein ligase (PRKN), and melatonin can alleviate DBP‐induced autophagy of the cells.

Segmentation of Breast Regions in Mammogram Based on Density: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesIJCSI International Journal of Computer Science Issues, Vol. 9, Issue 4, No 2, July 2012, 2012
The focus of this paper is to review approaches for segmentation of breast regions in mammograms according to breast density. Studies based on density have been undertaken because of the relationship between breast cancer and density. Breast cancer usually occurs in the fibroglandular area of breast tissue, which appears bright on mammograms and is ...

BREAST-FEEDING AND ANOVULATORY CYCLE IN SOME RURAL COMMUNITIES IN NIGERIA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
: A randomised prospective study of 150 breast-feeding and 100 non- breast-feeding postpartum women was conducted in some rural communities in Nigeria, to determine the relationship between breast-feeding and anovulation.

Autophagy Related 5 Promotes Mitochondrial Fission and Inflammation via HSP90‐HIF‐1α‐Mediated Glycolysis in Kidney Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
When the normal kidney is subjected to injurious stimuli, it can lead to persistent activation of ATG5. The activation of ATG5 promotes HSP90‐HIF‐1α interaction, resulting in stabilization of HIF‐1α and subsequent activation of glycolysis. Consequently, this process contributes to mitochondrial fission and inflammation, ultimately culminating in kidney
