Halofuginone Disrupted Collagen Deposition via mTOR‐eIF2α‐ATF4 Axis to Enhance Chemosensitivity in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
COL1A1, a major component of ECM, contributes to chemoresistance and poor prognosis in ovarian cancer. Halofuginone (HF) attenuates CAF‐secreted COL1A1 through mTOR‐eIF2α‐ATF4 axis. Notably, HF disrupts collagen deposition to form the looser ECM and facilitates CD8+ T cell infiltration, partially via M2‐M1 macrophage polarization to enhance ...

Camouflaged Nanozymes with Oxidation‐Promoting Activities Triggering Ferroptosis for Radio‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a cancer cell membrane‐coated nanozyme that enhances radiotherapy and reshapes the immunosuppressive microenvironment by generating oxygen in situ and disrupting tumor antioxidant defenses, offering a new strategy for breast cancer radioimmunotherapy.

Comparison of mechanistic and hybrid modeling approaches for characterization of a CHO cultivation process: Requirements, pitfalls and solution paths

open access: yesBiotechnology Journal, Volume 18, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Graphical Abstract and Lay Summary Successful bioprocess modeling starts with experimental planning and accordingly can fail at this early stage. Based on an antibody‐producing CHO fed‐batch process, requirements and pitfalls were investigated, exemplifying their impact on model performance and process characterization.

Identification of CD38high Monocyte as a Candidate Diagnostic Biomarker and Therapeutic Target for Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that CD38high monocytes discriminate sepsis and sterile inflammation and are associated with 28‐day mortality in bacterial sepsis. Targeting CD38 therapy reduces inflammatory response in monocytes and in sepsis mice model. Mechanistically, CD38‐HIF‐1α/glycolysis/MGO loop exacerbates sepsis‐induced immune dysregulation.

Deep Learning Predicts Mammographic Breast Density in Clinical Breast Ultrasound Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Background: Breast density, as derived from mammographic images and defined by the American College of Radiology's Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS), is one of the strongest risk factors for breast cancer. Breast ultrasound (BUS) is an alternative breast cancer screening modality, particularly useful for early detection in low-resource,

Dual Role of CRABP2 in Colorectal Cancer: Oncogenesis via Nuclear RB1 and Cytoplasmic AFG3L2/SLC25A39 Axis, While Limiting Liver Metastasis through Cytoplasmic AFG3L2/PINK1/Parkin‐Mediated Mitophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CRABP2 plays a dual role in colorectal cancer: it promotes proliferation and suppresses apoptosis through the nuclear CRABP2/RB1 axis and the cytoplasmic AFG3L2/SLC25A39 axis. Meanwhile, it inhibits colorectal liver metastasis via AFG3L2/PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy.

Evaluation of factors influencing on non-exclusive breast feeding during the first six months of life in Bushehr Port using focus group discussion

open access: yesIranian South Medical Journal, 2004
Non-exclusive breast feeding in the early years of life is one of the most important factors in growth and development of infants. Therefore, exclusive breast feeding is recommended during the first six months of life.
