Cryotherapy for Breast Fibroadenomas
Radiology, 2005To assess freezing protocols, imaging, and clinical outcomes of percutaneous ultrasonographically (US)-guided cryotherapy for breast fibroadenomas.Institutional review board approval and patient consent were obtained. Forty-two biopsy-confirmed fibroadenomas were treated in 29 patients (mean age, 27 years) by using a 2.4-mm cryoprobe inserted into the ...

Morphometry of the breast fibroadenoma
Pathology - Research and Practice, 1986This work is concerned with a morphometric analysis of 23 breast fibroadenomas subdivided into four histological subgroups from purely pericanalicular to purely endocanalicular forms. The volume fractions (Vv) of the lumina and the total volume: epithelial surface ratios (Sv) showed a significant (P less than 0.001) correlation (r = + 0.64).

Progesterone receptors in breast fibroadenomas
Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1979Abstract Cytosol progesterone receptors (P-R) were measured in breast fibroadenomas from 88 women, and their levels were compared to the tumor epithelial cell density and estradiol receptor levels (E-R). Three groups of fibroadenoma were distinguished: type I with a high epithelial cell density (n= 18), type III (n = 46) with low epithelial cell ...

Conservative management of breast fibroadenomas
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1991Is it conservative or radical management to excise all fibroadenomas of the breast, especially in women less than 30 years old? Once a definite diagnosis is established by physical examination, fine-needle aspiration cytologic testing, and mammography, is it prudent to monitor women with small fibroadenomas (less than 4 cm in diameter)? We reviewed 498

Chromosome abnormalities in breast fibroadenomas
Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1994Cytogenetic analysis of 25 breast fibroadenomas (FA) showed clonal chromosome alterations in three cases. Insertion (12;?) (q15;?) and deletion (2) (q14q31 or q32) were detected as a sole change in cases 1 and 3, respectively. Case 2 displayed the karyotype 45,XX,t(1;8;16)(q25;q23;q22-23), add (7)(p14), rea(15), -17.

Journal de gynecologie, obstetrique et biologie de la reproduction, 1994
We report a case of giant fibroadenoma of the breast, "juvenile type", in a 15 year old girl. We study the characteristics of this tumor that occurs in adolescents females, the differential diagnosis with cystosarcoma phylloide and benign virginal hypertrophy, and treatment. Follow-up is recommended because of possible recurrent tumor of a short time.
