This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

Implant and Implant Assisted Breast Reconstructions
The number of women in the USA with breast implants is now estimated at over 6 million based on national surveys. This is numerically in excess of 5% of the female adult population. The majority of these women had cosmetic augmentations but 20-30% had implant based post-mastectomy breast reconstructions or correction of congenital abnormalities.

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Sonication of Removed Breast Implants for Improved Detection of Subclinical Infection [PDF]
Background: Capsular fibrosis is a severe complication after breast implantation with an uncertain etiology. Microbial colonization of the prosthesis is hypothesized as a possible reason for the low-grade infection and subsequent capsular fibrosis ...

Eco‐friendly nanowave‐textured implants produced via femtosecond laser fabrication enhance bone regeneration by orchestrating a precise mechanotransduction cascade. This nanotopography directs mesenchymal stem cell alignment and cytoskeletal organization, triggering changes in nuclear shape and chromatin acetylation that prime cells for osteogenesis ...
