Paratesticular metastasis from primary midgut neuroendocrine tumor: A rare initial presentation

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Neuroendocrine tumors are malignant neoplasms arising from neuroendocrine cells. These are increasingly recognized with rising incidence and encompass a diverse range of phenotypes.

Discovery of a Potent Fluorescence Polarization Probe for Identifying USP1 Allosteric Inhibitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first ubiquitin‐specific protease 1 (USP1) allosteric fluoroprobe and fluorescence polarization assay, enabling the differentiation of allosteric and catalytic site inhibitors. Further, a novel class of tetrahydroisoquinoline‐based USP1 inhibitors is designed, with compound 14a (USP1 IC50 = 29.9 nM) showing strong selectivity ...

GLS1 Orchestrates Exosome‐Mediated Tumor‐Endothelial Communication to Facilitate Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a previously unappreciated, non‐metabolic function of GLS1 in the control of tumor angiogenesis via exosome‐mediated CAV1‐TNC signaling, indicating that therapeutic targeting of GLS1 may offer a dual benefit by simultaneously suppressing tumor metabolic activity and angiogenic processes in head and neck cancer. ABSTRACT Glutaminase 1

Lighting up Macrophage Reprogramming Assists Immunosuppressive Niche Modulation in Primary Tumors and Tumor‐Draining Lymph Nodes of Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops an intelligent NIR‐II‐responsive nanoplatform to combat immunosuppression in breast cancer. It enables real‐time visualization of macrophage activity via “off‐on” fluorescence while simultaneously reprogramming macrophages through the CSF‐1R and CD47‐SIRPα pathways.

Relative risk of second malignant neoplasms highest among young adult cancer patients – a population-based registry study in Finland

open access: yesActa Oncologica
Background and purpose: The objective of this study was to explore the incidence of second malignant neoplasms (SMNs) among adult cancer patients in Finland diagnosed with their first primary cancer (FPC) in 1992–2021.

Master Regulator SMC1A, Stabilized by N6‐Methyladenosine Reader IGF2BP1, Promotes HCC Progression Through Facilitating Enhancer–Promoter Interaction of Nestin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF2BP1‐mediated m6A stabilization sustains SMC1A expression, enabling cohesin‐associated chromatin regulation of Nestin in hepatocellular carcinoma. This work reveals an epitranscriptomic‐chromatin‐cytoskeletal regulatory axis linked to malignant phenotypes and identifies SMC1A as a biologically relevant vulnerability in HCC.

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.

ZDHHC17‐Mediated CDK4 Palmitoylation Drives Cell Cycle Progression and Orchestrates Cancer Immune Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZDHHC17 palmitoylates CDK4, which together with TRAF6‐mediated ubiquitination, drives cell cycle progression and immune surveillance, revealing a rational combination of CDK4 inhibitors with immune checkpoint blockers for ZDHHC17‐driven cancers. ABSTRACT Uncontrolled cell cycle progression is a hallmark of cancer, tightly regulated by both intrinsic ...

A study of the histopathological spectrum of breast lesions in a tertiary care hospital

open access: yesMGM Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Breast tissue undergoes various changes throughout life due to hormonal and environmental influences, which can result in a range of neoplastic and nonneoplastic conditions. With breast cancer now being the leading cancer among women in India,

5-alpha Reductase inhibitors and risk of male breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology
Objective: To assess the relationship between 5α-reductase inhibitors (5ARIs) and the risk of male breast cancer (MBC). Material and Methods: We systematically searched Medline via PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library Central Register up to May 2017 ...
