Fibroepithelial neoplasms of the breast

Diagnostic Histopathology, 2017
Abstract Fibroepithelial neoplasms include a large number of common lesions encountered in both symptomatic and breast screening practice. Nearly all are fibroadenomas and are harmless, but they can present a range of differing histologies. The area of most concern is the separation of fibroadenomas from phyllodes tumours, arguably an arbitrary ...

Neuroendocrine Neoplasms of the Breast

2020
Neuroendocrine differentiation in breast neoplasms has been a matter of discussion since the first description of a neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) in this site. In fact, NENs of the breast (Br-NENs) represent a less well-defined group of neoplasms than analogous entities in other organs, such as the lung and the gastroenteropancreatic tract.

Salivary-type neoplasms of the breast and lung

Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2003
Salivary-type tumors occur in multiple sites in the human body, likely related to a basic structural homology between exocrine glands in these different anatomic areas. This paper reviews these salivary gland tumor types in breast tissue and lung. Salivary-type tumors of both breast and lung are relatively uncommon in comparison to their salivary gland

Carcinoma and Other Neoplasms of the Male Breast

Radiology, 1949
Cancer of the male breast is rare and the end-results are disappointing. Among the factors that contribute to the poor prognosis is the fact that to many physicians mammary carcinoma in the male is something of a myth—an oddity in medicine—and for that reason inconsequential.

Breast neoplasms containing bone and cartilage

Virchows Archiv A Pathological Anatomy and Histopathology, 1983
A total of 307 breast neoplasms and tumour-like conditions were reviewed to assess the frequency with which bone and/or cartilage occurred. Of 90 fibroadenomas, 1 (1.1%) and 2 of 158 breast carcinomas (1.3%) contained bone, one benign mesenchymoma contained cartilage, and one benign "mixed" tumour (pleomorphic adenoma) displayed cartilage and bone ...

Difficulties and Errors in Diagnosis of Breast Neoplasms

Seminars in Ultrasound, CT and MRI, 2012
Many perceptual and interpretive factors influence the radiologic detection and assessment of breast neoplasms. Diagnostic problems can be divided into errors of detection and errors of assessment and management. Detection issues may relate to inherent features of the tumor or surrounding tissue, technical problems, or human error.

Clear cell myoepithelial neoplasm of the breast

Human Pathology, 1988
Primary clear cell tumors of the breast are rare neoplasms. Traditionally, their differential diagnosis has included lipid-rich, glycogen-rich, and secretory carcinomas of the breast. Although clear cell myoepithelial tumors of the salivary gland and skin have been reported, a primary clear cell myoepithelial carcinoma of the breast has not been ...

Risk of malignancy in papillary neoplasms of the breast

Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, 2019
In recent years, routine excision of papillary neoplasms (PN) of the breast has been questioned and controversy exists over when excision is necessary. The aim of this study was to evaluate the upstage rate to malignancy of core needle biopsy (CNB) diagnosed PNs from multiple diagnostic centers in our area and to identify factors predictive of ...

Neoplasm to Neoplasm Metastasis Pheochromocytoma Harboring a Metastasis of Breast Cancer

Pathology - Research and Practice, 1987
Breast cancer commonly metastasizes to the adrenal glands. Metastases to an already existing adrenal gland tumor, however, are a rare finding. To our knowledge, this report represents the first case of a breast carcinoma metastasizing to a pheochromocytoma. Metastases of a cancer to another coexisting tumor in the same individual is an unusual event.

Breast Lesions/Neoplasms in Men

2018
Male breast pathologies are quite uncommon, especially the malignant ones; while gynecomastia is a very frequent condition in overweight or hormone-dysfunctional men, male breast carcinoma in very uncommon. The lack of casuistry and information, along with lack of a “culture of prevention,” lead male breast cancer to a high rate of mortality despite ...
