Enhancing Sensitivity across Scales with Highly Sensitive Hall Effect‐Based Auxetic Tactile Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Herein, a tactile sensor based on hall‐effect sensors with an auxetic structure, called Hall effect‐based auxetic tactile sensor (HEATS), is proposed. The change in magnetism resulting from the deformation of the auxetic structure is utilized for sensing.

Posthumously Diagnosed Myhre Syndrome Presenting With Pleural Remodeling and Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Myhre syndrome (OMIM 139210) is a genetic condition defined by neurodevelopmental disability, characteristic facial features, and multisystem proliferative fibrosis. While various types of lung disease have been reported, pleural remodeling leading to restrictive lung disease has not yet been described.

Regional gas exchange evaluation during ex vivo lung perfusion in a swine model of localized lung dysfunction

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) allows the evaluation of lungs that do not meet standard transplantation criteria. Current procedures do not permit the identification of regional functional deficits. We investigated the feasibility of assessing lobar gas exchange during EVLP in a swine model.

Speech Biomarkers for Quantifying Effects of Subthalamic Deep Brain Stimulation in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Dysarthria is one of the most common and disabling side effects of subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN‐DBS) in Parkinson's disease (PD). Stimulation often exacerbates speech dysfunction beyond the effects of PD progression, likely because of current spread to structures surrounding the STN.
