Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).

Decay of DNLS breathers through inelastic multiphonon scattering

open access: yes, 2000
We consider the long-time evolution of weakly perturbed discrete nonlinear Schroedinger breathers. While breather growth can occur through nonlinear interaction with one single initial linear mode, breather decay is found to require excitation of at ...

PT-symmetric sine-Gordon breathers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, we explore a prototypical example of a genuine continuum breather (i.e., not a standing wave) and the conditions under which it can persist in a $\mathcal{P T}$-symmetric medium.

Smart, Bio‐Inspired Polymers and Bio‐Based Molecules Modified by Zwitterionic Motifs to Design Next‐Generation Materials for Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Interaction solutions of high-order breathers and lumps for a (3+1)-dimensional conformable fractional potential-YTSF-like model

open access: yesOpen Physics
In this study, the breather solutions and interaction solutions for the (3+1)-dimensional conformable fractional potential Yu-Toda-Sasa-Fukuyama-like model are conducted. The fractional derivative is described using the conformable derivative.

Interaction of a Kink-Soliton with a Breather in a Fermi-Pasta-Ulam Chain

open access: yes, 2001
Collision process between breather and moving kink-soliton is investigated both analytically and numerically in Fermi-Pasta-Ulam (FPU) chains. As it is shown by both analytical and numerical consideration low amplitude breathers and soft kinks retain ...

Breathers in the weakly coupled topological discrete sine-Gordon system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Existence of breather (spatially localized, time periodic, oscillatory) solutions of the topological discrete sine-Gordon (TDSG) system, in the regime of weak coupling, is proved.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Rogue Wave for the (3+1)-Dimensional Yu-Toda-Sasa-Fukuyama Equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
A new method, homoclinic (heteroclinic) breather limit method (HBLM), for seeking rogue wave solution to nonlinear evolution equation (NEE) is proposed.

Gap and out-gap breathers in a binary modulated discrete nonlinear Schr\"odinger model

open access: yes, 2003
We consider a modulated discrete nonlinear Schr\"odinger (DNLS) model with alternating on-site potential, having a linear spectrum with two branches separated by a 'forbidden' gap.
