Coherent and Incoherent Breathing Solitons in a Bidirectional Ultrafast Thulium Fiber Laser
Mode‐locked lasers are prone to exhibit a wide range of dynamics, including the coherent dissipative soliton with high robustness or the possible emission of incoherent pulse bursts.

Spectral up- and downshifting of Akhmediev breathers under wind forcing
We experimentally and numerically investigate the effect of wind forcing on the spectral dynamics of Akhmediev breathers, a wave-type known to model the modulation instability.

Unravelling the Secret of Sulfur Confinement and High Sulfur Utilization in Hybrid Sulfur‐Carbons
Thermal condensation of inverse vulcanized sulfur‐carbon hybrids enables a bottom‐up sulfur confinement strategy, in which a protective carbon phase is progressively constructed around sulfur species. The resulting carbon nanodomains covalently tether sulfur chains and stabilize radical intermediates. This integrated architecture effectively suppresses

Breathers on Quantized Superfluid Vortices [PDF]
We consider the propagation of breathers along a quantised superfluid vortex. Using the correspondence between the local induction approximation (LIA) and the nonlinear Schr dinger equation, we identify a set of initial conditions corresponding to breather solutions of vortex motion governed by the LIA.

Label‐Free SERS Fingerprinting of Neuroprotein Conformational Dynamics in Human Saliva
Galvanic molecular entrapment (GME) is a label‐free method for detecting and quantifying neuroprotein conformational states. This technique enables direct surface binding and in situ hotspot generation around molecules, effectively overcoming challenges related to target localization and mismatched hotspot geometries.

Regular, Beating and Dilogarithmic Breathers in Biased Photorefractive Crystals
The propagation of light beams in photovoltaic pyroelectric photorefractive crystals is modelled by a specific generalization of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (GNLSE).

We consider soliton creation when there are "twist" degrees of freedom present in the model in addition to those that make up the soliton. Specifically we consider a deformed O(3) sigma model in 1+1 dimensions, which reduces to the sine-Gordon model in ...
