Breathing ferroelectricity induced topological valley states in kagome niobium halide monolayers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In recent years, kagome lattices have garnered significant attention for their diverse properties in topology, magnetism, and electron correlations. However, the exploration of breathing kagome lattices, which exhibit dynamic breathing behavior, remains relatively scarce.

Engineering Music to Slow Breathing and Invite Relaxed Physiology [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We engineered an interactive music system that influences a user's breathing rate to induce a relaxation response. This system generates ambient music containing periodic shifts in loudness that are determined by the user's own breathing patterns. We evaluated the efficacy of this music intervention for participants who were engaged in an attention ...

Pressure Induced Molecular‐Arrangement and Charge‐Density Perturbance in Doped Polymer for Intelligent Motion and Vocal Recognitions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The sidechain doped polymer is investigated to have great potential for pressure detection due to the advantages including molecular rearrangement and charge‐density perturbance induced by micro‐mechanical deformation. This sensor displayed low‐pressure detection limit of 0.7 Pa as well as a rapid response time of 18.8 ms, enabling multi‐mode motion ...

On validity of perturbative quantization of the breathing mode in the Skyrme model [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Atom.Nucl. 58 (1995) 1404-1407; Yad.Fiz. 58N8 (1995) 1488-1491, 1993
We present a detailed discussion of the breathing mode quantization in the Skyrme model and demonstrate that the chiral angle of the hedgehog soliton is strongly affected by the breathing motion.
