Towards Implementing Multispecies Harvest Strategies That Are Robust to Interacting Populations
To advance the implementation of fisheries management that is robust to interacting populations (RIP), ecosystem management approaches can be structured using four main categories: (A) whole‐of‐ecosystem; (B) focus or key species; (C) species of conservation concern; and (D) pest or climate‐immigrant species.

Abstract The distribution, phenology, and population dynamics of species at multiple trophic levels have been impacted by climate change across a range of spatial scales. Upper trophic level species may be uniquely impacted through changes to prey species and foraging habitats in space and time.

Three marker genes targeting prokaryotic, eukaryotic, and vertebrate diversity were used to assess biodiversity within Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. High levels of biodiversity were seen across the sampled area, with distinct communities across surface water, bottom water, and sediment.

Spawning frequency and batch fecundity of Brazilian menhaden, Brevoortia aurea, in the Río de la Plata estuary off Argentina and Uruguay [PDF]
Brazilian menhaden, Brevoor tia aurea, is the only species of the genus Brevoortia in South American Atlantic waters and is abundant in the Río de la Plata estuary. We found that B. aurea in this area spawns almost exclusively in this estuary. We studied

The estuarine populations of juvenile Atlantic and gulf menhaden (Brevoortia tyrannus and B. patronus) were sampledduring two-boat, surface-trawl, abundance surveys extensively conducted in the 1970s. Juvenile Atlantic menhaden were sampled in 39 estuarine streams along the U.S. Atlantic coast from northern Florida into Massachusetts.
