Mineral carbonation of ceramic brick at low pressure and room temperature. A simulation study for a superficial CO2 store using a common clay as sealing material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This research explores the possibilities of CO2 sequestration on ceramic bricks in a short time and at surface conditions. The experiment was carried out in a specially designed reaction chamber, filled with brick wastes and sealed with common clays. The

Mapping Brick Kilns to Support Environmental Impact Studies around Delhi Using Sentinel-2

open access: yesISPRS Int. J. Geo Inf., 2020
Cities lying in the Indo-Gangetic plains of South Asia have the world’s worst anthropogenic air pollution, which is often attributed to urban growth. Brick kilns, facilities for producing fired clay-bricks for construction are often found at peri-urban ...

Recyclable and Binder‐Free EGaIn–Carbon Liquid Metal Composite: A Sustainable Approach for High‐Performance Stretchable Electronics, Thermal‐Interfacing and EMI‐Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Binder‐free EGaIn–CB composite deliver printable, recyclable liquid‐metal conductors without sintering or polymer binders. Only 1.5 wt% CB yields shear‐thinning, high‐viscosity rheology, ∼60% bulk EGaIn conductivity, robust stretchability, high thermal conductivity, and strong EMI shielding (35 → 70 dB at 100% strain).

Fumarate-based metal-organic frameworks as a new platform for highly selective removal of fluoride from brick tea

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Adsorption and removal of fluoride from brick tea is very important but challenging. In this work, two fumarate-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were synthesized for the selective removal of fluoride from brick tea infusion.

Disrupting J‐Aggregation in Triazatruxene Dimers to Develop Responsive Luminescent Inks for Anti‐Counterfeiting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
This study investigates the stimulus‐responsive behavior of trialkylated triazatruxene dimers for third‐generation luminescent security inks. In particular, the derivative with flexible dodecyl chains displays high‐contrast, reversible color changes upon heating or shear, driven by liquid crystalline phase transitions and involving J ...

Weakly Bonded Water in Interstitial Sites: A Source of Inaccuracy in Rehydroxylation Dating

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The rehydroxylation (RHX) dating technique offers a promising method for determining the ages of ceramic materials, leveraging the time-dependent mass gain from water reabsorption after high-temperature firing.

Entropy of the FRW cosmology based on the brick wall method

open access: yes, 2008
The brick wall method in calculations of the entropy of black holes can be applied to the FRW cosmology in order to study the statistical entropy. An appropriate cutoff satisfying the covariant entropy bound can be chosen so that the entropy has a ...
