Long term deflections of Paudèze Bridges

<p>The Paudèze bridges are two parallel bridges, each with a total length of around 400 m and a maximal span of 104 m. They were built using the balanced cantilever method between 1971 and 1974. After construction, a continuous increase in the deck deflections was observed.

Deflections of prestressed concrete bridges in Japan

Synopsis This paper summarizes and discusses measurements made of the deflections in service of four prestressed concrete bridges in Japan. The bridges, of long-span and central-hinge type, were constructed by the cantilever method. The paper discusses a simplified formula for calculating the deflection occurring after hinges have been joined.
