An intelligent bridge multi-dimension deflection IoT monitoring system based on laser datum and imaging

open access: yesJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English ed. Online)
Aiming at the all-weather automatic monitoring of bridge structure health monitoring, an embedded bridge multi-dimensional (horizontal and vertical) deflection monitoring system based on dual laser references is proposed.

Sulfur‐Free Ultrahigh‐Refractive‐Index Polymers Enabled by Densely Packed Oxygen‐Bridged Dibenzofuran‐Cardo Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new class of sulfur‐free, oxygen‐bridged dibenzofuran‐based polymers is developed for ultrahigh‐refractive‐index applications. The rigid π‐extended architecture and enhanced molecular polarizability enable exceptional optical performance, combining refractive indices up to 1.848 with high Abbe numbers and full visible transparency. This work offers a

Fiber‐reinforced Liquid Metal Composites With Automated Circuit Fabrication for Structurally‐Integrated Power Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fiber‐reinforced liquid metal composites (FibRe LMCs) are introduced that combine GPa‐scale structural performance with digitally programmable electrical conductivity. Through automated CNC activation, conductive pathways and wireless power transfer circuits are fabricated directly within load‐bearing composites, enabling structurally integrated ...

Mechanotransduction of Magnetically Applied Forces Leads to Mechanical Stiffening of Platelet‐Rich Plugs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A microfluidic device with magnetic microposts was used to assess platelet mechanobiology. The oscillatory actuation of posts with embedded iron particles was dampened by the dynamic stiffening of the platelet‐rich plugs. This stiffening process increased with applied load, but inhibiting platelet activation (ASA) or myosin contractility (blebbistatin)

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

A Comparative Analysis of Bearing Pad Resilience in 44-Year-Old and Modern Bridge Structures

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Civil Engineering
A study of Al-Rayhanna Bridge (Iraq, Anbar Province) concerned with examining elastomeric bearing pad dynamic behaviour against changes in traffic speed and girder deflection. The areas of maximum deflection were being located at midspans of the girders,

Deflection Measurement of Masonry Arch Bridges with Tall Piers: Case Study of Shahbazan Bridge [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Railway Research, 2016
A common practice for detailed assessment of masonry bridges is to use recorded deflection signature of mid-span of such structures due to predefined loading schemes.

One‐Dimensional Materials Supported in Two‐Dimensional Van der Waals Metal–Organic Frameworks with Optical Anisotropy Switching via Twist‐Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

Gapless Superconductivity From Extremely Dilute Magnetic Disorder in 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx hosts gapless superconductivity at unexpectedly low magnetic impurity concentrations. Combining STM, Bogoliubovde Gennes simulations, DFT, and quasiparticle interference, we comprehensively study the development of gapless behavior and show that SeS substitution reshapes the band structure, enhances nesting, and drives ...
