Bridge engineering and aerodynamics
2017The present paper outlines the salient aerodynamic features in present and future bridge design. The theoretical and experimental tools available to the designer are addressed. These include wind screens, specially designed cables and towers, and aerodynamic appendages such as guide vanes. Various systems used to control oscillation are also discussed.
