Action functional as an early warning indicator in the space of probability measures via Schrödinger bridge

open access: yesQuantitative Biology
Critical transitions and tipping phenomena between two meta‐stable states in stochastic dynamical systems are a scientific issue. In this work, we expand the methodology of identifying the most probable transition pathway between two meta‐stable states ...

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Magnetically Actuated Drops‐on‐Stilts Microrobots for Transport and Delivery of Hydrophobic Cargo

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Iron oxide nanoparticles and oil droplets in external magnetic fields form “drops‐on‐stilts” microrobots that transport hydrophobic cargo. Tunable nanoparticle–droplet interactions generate stilt‐like structures. Field rotation enables walking, obstacle navigation, and collective motion.

From network biology to immunity: potential longitudinal biomarkers for targeting the network topology of the HIV reservoir

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
In the “omics” era, studies often utilize large-scale datasets, eliciting the overall functional machinery of a network’s organization. In this context, determining how to read the enormous number of interactions in a network is imperative to comprehend ...

Innovative Lucky-edge odd mean labeling of star-related graphs: bridging theory and circuit design

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática
This study explores the application of Lucky-edge Odd Mean Labeling (LEOML) to special classes of star-related graphs, including Middle, Total, and Central graphs. LEOML is an exclusive edge labeling technique in which the mean of edge labels incident to each vertex is controlled to be an odd number.

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...

Spatiotemporal Risk Mitigation for Bridge Assets Using an Integrated Graph-Theory-Based Network and RNN Model Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bridge Engineering, Management and Research
Traditional bridge maintenance approaches often lack the capability to capture interactions among structural elements or assess the vulnerability of freight networks to disruptions such as bridge closures. To overcome these limitations, this study introduces a data-driven bridge maintenance framework that integrates artificial intelligence, geographic ...
