Bridging Perturbative Expansions with Tensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2017
We demonstrate that perturbative expansions for quantum many-body systems can be rephrased in terms of tensor networks, thereby providing a natural framework for interpolating perturbative expansions across a quantum phase transition. This approach leads to classes of tensor-network states parametrized by few parameters with a clear physical meaning ...

Relaxed Schrödinger Bridges and Robust Network Routing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, 2020
We consider network routing under random link failures with a desired final distribution. We provide a mathematical formulation of a relaxed transport problem where the final distribution only needs to be close to the desired one. The problem is a maximum entropy problem for path distributions with an extra terminal cost.

Let the Weakest Link Go! Empirical Explorations on the Relative Importance of Weak and Strong Ties on Social Networking Sites

open access: yesSocieties, 2014
Theoretical approaches as well as empirical results in the area of social capital accumulation on social networking sites suggest that weak ties/bridging versus strong ties/bonding social capital should be distinguished and that while bonding social ...
